Heating, Safety & Care

Comfortably warm, never hot. Please read these instructions before first use — they're also printed on the card inside every pack.

Microwave only

Heat only in a clean microwave. Never use an oven, grill, stovetop or electric blanket.

Heating (800–1000 W microwave)

  1. Use a clean microwave rated 800–1000 W. Microwave heating only.
  2. Lay the wheat pack flat in the centre of the microwave.
  3. Start with 30 seconds, then remove and check the temperature.
  4. Continue in 15-second bursts, checking each time, until comfortably warm — not hot.
  5. Never overheat. Allow the pack to cool completely before reheating.

Never

  • Do not heat in an oven, under a grill, on a stovetop or with an electric blanket.
  • Do not heat when wet or damp. The pack must be completely dry.
  • Do not add oils or fragrances.
  • Do not microwave directly from frozen.
  • Stop immediately if you notice a burning, scorching or popcorn smell.

Safe use

  • Use through clothing or a suitable cover — not directly on bare skin.
  • Do not use under bedding or while sleeping.
  • Use on any one area for a maximum of five minutes at a time, then remove, check skin and pack temperature, and allow a brief break.
  • An adult should heat the pack and supervise children during use.
  • Only for people who can sense temperature and remove the pack themselves.

Cold use

  • Place the wheat pack in a sealed freezer bag before freezing.
  • Remove it from the freezer bag before use.
  • Avoid prolonged direct contact with bare skin.
  • Do not microwave directly from frozen — allow it to return to room temperature and ensure it is completely dry first.

Cleaning & storage

  • Spot clean only with a lightly damp cloth.
  • Do not immerse, soak or machine wash.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.

Replace your wheat pack if

  • It has a burnt or popcorn smell
  • The fabric is scorched or discoloured from heat
  • Seams or fabric are damaged or worn
  • Wheat is escaping
  • It has become wet inside
  • There are signs of mould or sprouting
  • It heats unevenly
